Cambridge, UK - Camrivox, a Unified Communications innovator and developer of Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) software today advises customers that use Salesforce that the Salesforce CTI Toolkit will stop working beginning Spring 2017. For some time Camrivox has recommended that customers use our Apex integration to Salesforce rather than the CTI Toolkit but some action may still be required.
The Apex integration to Salesforce does not rely on any third party software which was one of the serious shortcomings of the CTI Toolkit. For this reason we did not opt to integrate with Open CTI as this has the same limitations.
Customers that see the warning "CTI Toolkit is retiring. This Softphone will stop working beginning Spring '17. Contact your admin about migrating to Salesforce Open CTI." in the Salesforce softphone are advised to follow the instructions in the knowledgebase article at the following link.
