Scanning for Asterisk extensions

When you open the Asterisk device scan window in Flexor Manager, it automatically begins to scan any configured servers for available extensions.

If a device is currently registered to an extension, the Asterisk icon is shown coloured orange. If no phone device is registered with an extension, the Asterisk icon is shown in grey. Both SIP and IAX extensions are shown. To get more information about a particular extension, hover the mouse pointer over its icon:

Regardless of whether or not a device is registered to an extension, you can add it to Flexor Manager - it will automatically detect when a device is registered to that extension. To add an extension, click on its icon to select it and then click the "Add >" button.

If you need to change the configured Asterisk server or add another one, click the "Configure Servers..." button. See the section Adding Servers for information on how to configure Asterisk servers in Flexor Manager.

If your organisation has a large number of extensions, it may be easier for you to connect by specifying your extension number. To do this, click on the "Add Manually >" button. The next section describes the process for finding your extension by number.
